Privacy Policy
Last Updated: May 31, 2026
Welcome to WordCounterz.com. This policy explains what we collect, what we do not collect and what choices you have. We kept the wording plain because privacy pages should be useful, not confusing.
Please read this policy carefully. By using WordCounterz.com, you agree to the practices described here. If you don't agree with any part of this policy, we ask that you stop using our website.
Who We Are
WordCounterz.com is a free online text tools suite. We provide a collection of writing and text analysis tools that help people count words, check grammar, format text and much more. Our website is operated by WordCounterz.com. If you need to reach us about anything privacy-related, you can email us at [email protected].
How Our Tools Work
This is the most important thing to understand about our service. The vast majority of our tools run entirely in your browser. That means when you paste text into our word counter, character counter, case converter or any of our standard text tools, your text never leaves your device. It's processed right there on your computer or phone using JavaScript. We never see it. We never store it. We can't access it even if we wanted to.
Think of it this way: our website sends the tool to your browser, and then your browser does all the work locally. No data gets transmitted back to our servers for these tools.
There are a few exceptions. Our AI-powered tools, including the grammar checker, text summarizer, paraphraser, AI text humanizer, tone changer and email writer, need to send your text to API endpoints in order to process it. These tools rely on language models that can't run locally in a browser. We don't store the text you submit to these AI tools. Your text is sent, processed and the result is returned to you. We don't keep copies, build profiles based on your text or use it for training purposes.
Even with that protection, be careful with sensitive material. Avoid pasting passwords, API keys, private medical records, legal records, financial details or anything you would not want processed by an external AI service.
Information We Collect
We keep our data collection to a minimum. Here's exactly what we may collect:
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: When you visit our site, our servers may automatically log basic information like your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited and the date and time of your visit. This is standard for virtually every website on the internet.
- Cookies and Similar Technologies: We use cookies to keep the site functioning properly and to understand how people use it. More details on this are in our Cookie Policy.
- Analytics Data: We use Google Analytics to understand traffic patterns and how visitors interact with our site. This helps us figure out which tools are popular, where people are coming from and how we can improve. Google Analytics collects data like page views, session duration and general geographic location (country or city level, not your exact address).
Information You Provide
- Contact Information: If you email us at [email protected], we'll have your email address and whatever information you include in your message. We only use this to respond to your inquiry.
- Text Submitted to AI Tools: As mentioned above, text you submit to our AI-powered tools is sent to our API endpoints for processing. This text is not stored after processing is complete.
Information We Don't Collect
We want to be equally clear about what we don't collect:
- We don't require you to create an account or sign up
- We don't collect your name, phone number or mailing address
- We don't collect payment information (our tools are free)
- We don't store text you enter into our client-side tools
- We don't track individual users across sessions for profiling
How We Use Your Information
The limited information we collect is used for the following purposes:
- To operate and maintain the website: Basic server logs help us keep the site running smoothly and diagnose technical problems.
- To improve our services: Analytics data helps us understand which tools people use most, what features to build next and how to make the user experience better.
- To respond to inquiries: If you contact us, we use your email to write back to you.
- To comply with legal obligations: In rare cases, we may need to retain or disclose information to comply with laws or legal processes.
Third-Party Services
We use a few third-party services on our website. Each of these services has its own privacy policy that governs how they handle data:
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to analyze website traffic. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information about how visitors use our site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website is transmitted to and stored by Google on servers that may be located outside your country. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required by law or where third parties process the information on Google's behalf.
You can learn more about how Google uses data at Google's Privacy Policy. You can also opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Google Ads
We may display advertisements through Google Ads (formerly Google AdSense) to support the free operation of our website. Google Ads may use cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can visit www.aboutads.info to opt out of third-party cookies used for personalized advertising.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website. We use cookies for several reasons:
- Essential cookies: These are necessary for the website to function correctly. They handle things like remembering your preferences and settings.
- Analytics cookies: Set by Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors interact with our website.
- Advertising cookies: Set by Google Ads to deliver relevant advertisements and track ad campaign performance.
You can manage analytics and advertising cookies from the Cookie Settings link in the footer. You can also control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Keep in mind that blocking all cookies may affect saved preferences or session-based features. For more information, please see our Cookie Policy.
Data Retention
We keep different types of data for different periods:
- Server logs: Basic access logs are typically retained for up to 90 days and then automatically deleted.
- Analytics data: Google Analytics data is retained according to Google's data retention settings. We've configured our analytics to retain data for the standard retention period.
- Contact emails: If you email us, we keep the correspondence for as long as it's reasonably necessary to resolve your inquiry and for our records.
- AI tool submissions: Text submitted to our AI-powered tools is not stored. It's processed in real time and discarded.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we collect. Our website uses HTTPS encryption to secure data transmitted between your browser and our servers. We keep our software up to date and follow standard security practices.
That said, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we can't guarantee absolute security. This is true of every website, and we want to be honest about it.

By using our website, you consent to this transfer.
If you're an EU resident, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We process your data based on legitimate interest (to operate and improve our website) and, where applicable, your consent (for cookies and analytics).
Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers send "Do Not Track" signals to websites. There's currently no industry standard for how websites should respond to these signals. At this time, our website does not respond to Do Not Track signals. However, you can manage your privacy preferences through your browser settings and the opt-out mechanisms described in this policy.
